Live benchmark coverage (Q1–Q10)

The Standard Ten was reproduced as a native HD Quiz quiz named Standard Ten HD Quiz. All Core Six questions were entered with the canonical wording, four answers, correct answer, and explanation text. The coverage boundary is:

QuestionTypeStatus
Q1–Q6Single-answer multiple choiceok
Q7Multiple-correctok — native select_all_apply_text type, two correct selections (Argon, Neon).
Q8True/falseok — represented as a native two-choice multiple-choice question.
Q9Fill-inok — native text_based_answer type, answer Fe.
Q10Orderingunsupported — HD Quiz has no native ordering question type; omitted from the live quiz.

No question was blocked by a Pro upsell (proGated: []).

The live benchmark page rendered the native .hdq_quiz_wrapper markup, displayed the canonical Core Six text, and completed a full attempt with a submitted result of 10 / 10 — 100%, showing “Passed: excellent work.” completionPass is true.

Runtime measurements

Measured on the Core-Six-only page https://wpqp.loca.zone/hdquiz/benchmark-core/ with Chromium, cache disabled, logged out, networkidle2. See measurement methodology for the exact probe.

This is one of the leanest measured roster pages and confirms the plugin’s documented no-jQuery runtime.

Signature-feature walkthrough

The signature demo exercised HD Quiz’s free per-question timer and explanation fields on the live quiz.

  • A 10-second per-question timer was enabled in the native quiz settings and is visible after the QUIZ START control.
  • Answer marking, show-correct-answer, pass/fail content, and the native Extra content (explanation) field were configured.
  • The timer resource and runtime are present in the live DOM.

Catches and caveats

  • No native ordering type. Q10 was omitted because HD Quiz has no ordering question type. This is an honest coverage gap, not a Pro gate.
  • Explanation visibility. Explanation text is stored in the native Extra content field and marking is enabled, but the explanation body was not visible in the all-correct result pane during the observed attempt. This is recorded as a UI limitation, not a functional failure.
  • Ten-answer ceiling. Official documentation states a maximum of ten answers per question.
  • Question-pool attachment. HD Quiz questions are attached to a specific quiz, so the benchmark, core, and signature pages reused the same underlying quiz rather than a shared global bank.

Audit score and verdict

Verdict: HD Quiz is a strong choice for a fast, jQuery-free, free-tier quiz. It passed the Standard Ten with nine of ten questions, loaded one of the leanest front-end asset stacks in the roster, and delivered a clean per-question timer experience. The trade-off is narrower advanced logic and no ordering type. Use it when performance and simplicity matter more than deep branching, LMS integration, or certificate workflows.
