📏 Measurement protocol

Each benchmark-core/ page is loaded in Chromium after the network becomes idle. The capture records total resource requests and transfer bytes, JavaScript and CSS file counts and bytes, DOM nodes, and whether jQuery exists at runtime.

The protocol holds constant:

  • WordPress 7.0.2 and PHP 8.3;
  • Twenty Twenty-Five on every site;
  • HTTPS through the same reverse proxy;
  • six identical questions;
  • one active quiz plugin per measured subsite.

The coexistence lab adds all ten embeds to one page and records console errors, PHP debug findings and wp-admin top-level menu count. Numbers are a dated snapshot, not a universal speed claim; network cache, plugin updates and authored features can change them.
