Pricing and source

The core plugin is free from the WordPress.org directory. Advanced question types, email integrations, reporting, certificates, and similar capabilities are sold as add-ons. The audit captured no stable bundle price; add-on pricing is listed on the vendor site and can change independently of the directory record. No paid, nulled, or trial code was installed on the showcase bench. See the licensing and value notes for the showcase rule.

The free QSM wizard authored and published six scored Multiple Choice questions, including the exact atmospheric-nitrogen question. Q7–Q10 were not verified in the live free authoring flow and are recorded as unsupported in the free tier rather than assumed from documentation. Pro-gated capabilities observed in the UI include advanced question types, email integrations, and results-reporting add-ons.

Signature-feature walkthrough

The QSM subsite demonstrates two free-tier capabilities:

  1. Scored knowledge benchmark — the Standard Ten Core Six rendered with [qsm quiz="1"] on the benchmark pages. A full attempt in the browser completed and returned QSM’s default results message.
  2. Survey mode with local lead capture — a second QSM quiz, Science Feedback Survey, was created in Survey mode. It includes a confidence-style question and uses the built-in Contact tab to collect Name and Email. The signature page embeds [qsm quiz="2"]. No external mail service or SMTP integration was configured; the captured data stays in the WordPress database unless an email add-on is purchased.

Coexistence

QSM activated cleanly on its own subsite and on the coexistence lab. It contributed one top-level admin menu item, “QSM”. No console error or PHP fatal was attributed to QSM in the coexistence capture. See the comparison index for the full coexistence lab report.

Catches

  • Free-tier question authoring is essentially single-answer multiple choice. The Standard Ten extensions (multiple-correct, true/false, fill-in, ordering) are not expressible without paid add-ons or were not found in the free UI.
  • The default results message is generic; richer results pages, reporting, and conditional feedback are behind add-ons.
  • Email delivery and marketing integrations are not part of the free package.
  • The incumbent-claims file records that a documented Logic-add-on conflict with automatic pagination could not be verified from a current official source.
  • Add-on pricing is modular rather than a single transparent bundle, so total cost of ownership can grow quickly.

Verdict

Quiz and Survey Master is a safe, mature generalist for straightforward scored quizzes and surveys. The free tier handles the Core Six reliably and produces a working result screen, but anyone needing richer question types, branching logic, reporting, or email integrations should budget for add-ons. It is a good fit when the use case stays within multiple-choice quizzes with simple lead capture, and a weaker fit for advanced assessment types without paid extensions.
